What are Dental Implants? The implants themselves are titanium screws, which
are inserted into the jawbone where teeth are missing. These metal anchors act as
tooth root substitutes. They are surgically placed into the jawbone. The bone bonds
with the titanium, creating a strong foundation for artificial teeth. Small posts
are then attached to the implant, which protrude through the gums. These posts provide
stable anchors for artificial replacement teeth.
Durable Made of titanium and other durable materials.
Maintenance Free Implants are attached permantly to the bone.
The Procedure: The process starts with an initial consultation and examination.
This helps us determine whether or not you are a candidate for an implant. We evaluate
the health and state of your gums, teeth, and bones. We also spend quite a bit of
time explaining the procedure and answering any questions you might have regarding
implants. This visit might also involve x-rays including a panoramic x-ray to give
us a better view at the jawbone structure.
Once we determine that an implant is a viable option for you, we schedule a visit
to remove any remaining teeth parts. We take this opportunity to further evaluate
the site for the implant. If there is enough bone structure already in place we
begin the process of installing the post that will naturally adhere to the bone
and eventually hold the replacement tooth. Otherwise we wait for the gum and the
bone to grow to secure a stronger anchor for the post.
Once the post is in place and bone and gum tissue has grown around it, we are ready
to insert the replacement tooth unto the post. We secure the tooth to the post to
ensure a solid and comfortable bite. There is a follow up visit usually scheduled
a few weeks after to evaluate the robustness and comfort of the implant. We also
instruct you about the routine care required for your implant.
Quick: It only takes a few weeks to experience your new life.
The process is simple, the materials used are top-grade, and the results
are spectacular.
Dental Implants are one of the fastest growing and successful new procedures to
replace missing teeth. Dental implants are an alternative to conventional bridges
and dentures. This is one of our specialties at Orlando Family Dental.
Why Implants?
Dental implants are changing the way people live. They are designed to provide a
foundation for replacement teeth which look, feel and function like natural teeth.
The person who has lost teeth regains the ability to eat virtually anything. Knowing
that teeth appear natural and that facial contours will be preserved, they can smile
with confidence.
Dental Implants are specialized titanium fixtures placed into the
jaw underneath the gum that biologically bond to living bone. Once healed they act
as anchors to allow the attachment of porcelain or acrylic teeth. Dental Implants
restore the natural look, feel and function of natural teeth. You'll be able to
chew, enjoy and digest your food, and look and feel better.
Testimonials:
"The dental
implant surgery has been the best thing I have ever done for myself. As a result
of the surgery I have experienced a very secure overall better fit, no pain in my
jaw, no more sore spots due to denture irritation and no more embarrassing clicking
sounds.Best of all, I get to eat what I want. Bring on the steak, taco chips, corn
– I am ready!"
“Before my implants I could not wear my lower teeth…they were out
more often than they were in. Now, I can eat everything! The only thing I regret
is not doing it sooner.”
